The A&K PKM is an electric airsoft gun (AEG) that offers an authentic experience thanks to its realistic design. It is made from a combination of metal, steel, and polymer, faithfully replicating the appearance of the real machine gun. The body, upper receiver cover, bipod, carrying handle, and magazine are made of steel, while the stock and grip are made of polymer. The machine gun is equipped with a foldable bipod for stable shooting and comes with a high-capacity electric magazine that holds up to 5000 BBs.

Inside the weapon is a reinforced metal gearbox, often referred to as a brick, which is highly durable. The gearbox contains high-quality steel gears with a gear ratio of 18:1, mounted on 8mm ball bearings. The quick spring change system facilitates maintenance, with an M110 spring providing a muzzle velocity of up to 120 m/s (1.5 J). The improved hop-up chamber and 6.08 mm inner barrel contribute to the weapon's high accuracy and range.
