The EARMOR M32X PLUS (2024) is an upgraded active hearing protection headset that provides safe noise reduction at the shooting range, enhanced situational awareness, and team communication capability. Two directional microphones capture surrounding sounds and reproduce them inside the ear cups, allowing you to hear footsteps, speech, and movement while loud impulse noises such as gunshots or explosions are automatically limited to a safe 82 dB. The PLUS version introduces new gel ear cushions for significantly improved comfort during extended wear and better sealing around the ears. The headset features an M16 flip-up mount for ARC rails (FAST, MICH, AirFrame), allowing quick stowage and precise ear cup adjustment. A traditional headband is also included for use without a helmet. Communication is handled by a fixed microphone integrated into the left ear cup and a cable equipped with a NATO Military Standard 7.0 (Nexus TP-120) connector for use with a PTT module. The low-profile ear cups do not interfere with aiming, and the rugged IPX-5 rated construction is built to withstand demanding field conditions. Power is supplied by 2 × 1.5V AAA batteries (not included).

Is the M32X PLUS worth upgrading to if I already own the older M32?

Yes. The biggest differences are noticeable in real use. Improved microphones provide more natural sound reproduction and better directional awareness. The gel ear cushions are a major comfort upgrade that many users would not want to go without after extended use.

How well does radio communication work?

The headset itself performs very well, but the PTT module is equally important. Using a compatible EARMOR M51 PTT with your radio provides clear communication with minimal noise. Cheap third-party PTT units are often the weakest part of the setup.

Can the headset be used without a helmet?

Yes. The package includes a traditional headband. The ARC mount is ideal for helmets, while the headband is more convenient for regular use without headgear.

What connector does it actually use for PTT, Nexus TP-120 or NATO 7.0?
